IYCVT is honored to partner with Allison Smith of Maha Veda Wellness to offer you Ayurvedic education, consultations and body treatments. Ayurveda is the ancient medical system of India and is a sister science to Yoga. It is founded in the study of the elements and each individual’s unique combination of those elements. Allison creates a deeply individualized and curated experience, helping each person with lifestyle choices to support body, mind and consciousness.
In your first treatment we will assess your individual constitution, design a treatment plan that includes self care rituals, breathwork, and use of herbs, oils, and food as medicine. Allison has a passion for doing hands-on bodywork therapies including abhyanga (warm oil massage), marma chikitsa (acupressure), and shirodhara (mind-balancing treatment) which is integrated into the treatment plan.
Allison Smith, CMT, is a classically trained Ayurvedic Practitioner and seasoned bodyworker, offering her clients Restorative Massage, Traditional East Indian holistic therapies, lifestyle consultation, and nourishing meals designed to aid in seasonal cleansing and rejuvenation. While providing technical expertise and gentle guidance, she is devoted to holding sacred space for her clients, inviting their natural intelligence and ability to heal to come forward. From an early age she has pursued an interest in natural living, herbalism, holistic food as medicine, and self care through yoga and meditation and has been in practice since 2003. She studied with and worked alongside Dr. Vasant Lad of the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico for eight years in his Panchakarma clinic and has traveled to India for extensive training in Ayurvedic bodywork. In addition, she holds a Master Teacher degree in Reiki. Ayurveda has been a lifeline for her in navigating the world and raising her two children, and is a gift she is eager to share with others.
